President and CEO & Board Members

Carl McGill is a respected conflict resolution practitioner, chamber executive, and small business leader whose career spans public service, economic development, and alternative dispute resolution. With over three decades of experience guiding organizations and communities through complex challenges, he is recognized for his ability to build bridges, facilitate dialogue, and promote peaceful, practical solutions to conflict.

Mr. McGill’s background includes service in law enforcement, where he gained firsthand insight into community dynamics, crisis response, and the urgent need for constructive conflict resolution tools. His commitment to nonviolent problem-solving deepened during his academic training in Behavioral Science, Negotiation, and Conflict Management, which laid the foundation for his later work as a mediator, ombuds, and consultant.

From 1988 to 2018, Mr. McGill served as President and CEO of the Black Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles County. His leadership helped advance local economic growth while fostering collaboration among businesses, government agencies, and community stakeholders. He championed fair access to opportunities for minority-owned businesses and frequently applied negotiation and mediation principles to resolve disputes, strengthen partnerships, and build organizational capacity. His commitment to equitable business development also led to longstanding service on the California Employment Development Department’s Small Business Advisory Committee.

As the founder and principal consultant of Carl McGill & Associates, Mr. McGill provides organizations with expert guidance in mediation, conflict resolution systems, business strategy, and leadership development. He has worked in high-pressure environments—including emergency management deployments with FEMA—helping teams improve communication, de-escalate conflict, and align around shared goals during times of crisis.

A practitioner of both traditional and transformative dispute resolution models, Mr. McGill integrates real-world experience with a deep understanding of community needs. His work is grounded in the belief that effective conflict resolution not only restores relationships but also builds stronger, more resilient organizations.

Mr. McGill received his masters of arts degree in Behavioral Science: Negotiation and Conflict Management from California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, California.
